Booking & Your Trip
How do I book a trip with Sterling Shuttle and Tours?
Booking is easy! You can reserve your seat right here on our website by choosing the trip you’d like to join and following the booking steps.
Prefer to talk to a real person? We like those too! Give us a call at 541-246-0811 and we’ll be happy to answer your questions, help you choose the right trip, or walk you through your reservation.
How far in advance should I book?
Booking in advance is strongly encouraged, especially for trips with limited seating. But if there’s still a seat available and the booking window is open, we’re happy to welcome a last-minute traveler!
See an upcoming trip calling your name? Check availability—or give us a call and we’ll see if we can get you aboard.
Is there a minimum number of passengers for a trip to operate?
Most of our public trips require a minimum of four passengers to operate. If a trip doesn’t reach the required minimum, we’ll contact you as soon as possible to discuss your options.
Of course, we’d much rather take you somewhere fun than cancel a trip, so we’ll always do what we reasonably can to make it work!
Where will I be picked up?
Pickup locations and times are listed on the booking page for each trip.
Traveling with a group of four or more? We may be able to come to you! Door-to-door pickup may be available for a nominal additional fee. Just reach out and ask.
What time should I arrive for pickup?
We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before your scheduled departure time. That gives everyone time to get settled without feeling rushed.
A few minutes early means a much more relaxed start for everyone—and relaxed is exactly how we like to travel!
What happens if I’m late?
We know things happen! If you’re running behind, please call us as soon as possible and we’ll do what we reasonably can to help.
Because our trips run on a schedule and we have other guests to consider, however, we cannot guarantee that we’ll be able to wait for late passengers. The shuttle may need to depart without you, so please plan to arrive a little early.
Riding With Sterling
What kind of vehicle will we be traveling in?
Sometimes known as Marshmallow or The Cloud—depending on which one of us you ask—our Ford Transit passenger van is clean, comfortable, well maintained, and ready for the road.
Settle in, enjoy the view, and let us do the driving!
How many passengers can you accommodate?
We accommodate up to 13 passengers, depending on the trip and its luggage or equipment requirements.
Have a larger group or aren't sure whether everyone will fit comfortably? Give us a call and let’s talk about what you need.
Can I bring a walker, cane, or other mobility aid?
Absolutely. Canes and folding walkers can generally travel right along with you, and we can provide a portable step to help make getting in and out of the van a little easier.
At the moment, our vehicle is not equipped to accommodate wheelchairs or mobility scooters. If you have questions about your particular mobility aid or boarding the van comfortably, please call us before booking. We’ll be happy to talk it through with you.
Can I leave personal belongings in the van during a stop?
Yes. You’re welcome to leave personal belongings in the van while we’re stopped, and the vehicle will be secured when unattended.
We do recommend keeping valuables such as wallets, phones, medications, and other important items with you. After all, the best way to enjoy your day is without worrying about your stuff!
Can I bring food or drinks aboard?
Of course! We usually provide complimentary snacks, water, and soft drinks, but you’re welcome to bring your own refreshments along for the ride.
We just ask that you help us keep our traveling home-away-from-home clean and comfortable for everyone aboard.
Tours & Experiences
Are meals, admission tickets, and activities included in the price?
It depends on the adventure! Each experience clearly lists what’s included in your ticket price and what you should plan to purchase separately.
Take a peek at the individual trip page before booking, and if you’re still wondering about something, just ask us.
What happens if weather or road conditions affect the trip?
A little Oregon weather doesn’t scare us—but safety always comes first.
Weather, road closures, wildfire conditions, attraction closures, or other unexpected circumstances can sometimes change our plans. When that happens, Sterling Shuttle and Tours may adjust the route, change or substitute a stop, postpone the trip, or, when necessary, cancel it altogether.
If a significant change affects your trip, we’ll let you know as soon as possible and explain your options. We’ll always do our best to preserve the experience you booked while making the safest decision for everyone aboard.
Sometimes the road has other plans—and when it does, we’ll take care of the navigating.
Do I need to bring a car seat or booster seat for my child?
Yes. If your child requires a car seat or booster seat, you’ll need to bring the appropriate child restraint with you. Sterling Shuttle and Tours does not currently provide car seats or booster seats.
Every child must have their own passenger seat, and any required child restraint must be properly installed before we depart.
Not sure what your child needs? Please check Oregon’s current child passenger safety requirements before your trip. Little travelers deserve a safe ride, too!
Can I book the whole van for my group?
Absolutely! Sometimes the best trips are the ones where you know everybody aboard.
Whether you’re planning a family outing, celebration, club trip, retirement community adventure, or simply a day away with your favorite people, we’d love to get you there. Visit our Private Charters page for more information or contact us to start planning.
Can Sterling create a custom trip for our group?
Oh, now you’re speaking our language!
Tell us what you have in mind and we’ll work with you to create a trip around your group, your destination, and your kind of fun. We can help with the route, timing, stops, and all those little details that turn “we should do that” into “we’re going!”
So... where are we headed?
Changes, Cancellations & The Uncomfortable Stuff
What is your cancellation policy?
Plans change—we understand! Cancel 7 days or more before your trip and receive a full refund. Cancellations made between 48 hours and 7 days before departure receive a 25% refund. Cancellations made 48 hours or less before departure are nonrefundable.
If Sterling Shuttle and Tours needs to cancel your trip, you’ll receive a full refund.
Are service animals welcome?
Absolutely. Trained service animals are welcome aboard Sterling Shuttle and Tours and may travel with their handler at no additional charge.
We simply ask that your service animal remain under your control and with you during the trip. You’re welcome to let us know ahead of time so we can make your boarding and travel experience as comfortable as possible, but you do not need to make a special request for your service animal to join you.
There’s room in the Sterling family for four-legged helpers, too.
